Ant in a Dream

The Bible says, "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways and be wise" (Proverbs 6:6). Aesop's fable, "The Ant and the Grasshopper," tells how the grasshopper, who had been lazy throughout spring and summer, had to visit the ants to beg for food in winter. Ants have always been considered busy, persistent, thrifty, and well organized. Consequently, to dream of ants is a sign that you are using these attributes to enhance your life. However, knowing this may not give you much satisfaction, as you probably take these skills for granted. Take time to appreciate yourself and think about your special skills and talents. Be aware that your positive nature, industriousness, diligence, and patience will pay off in time. If the ants in your dream seemed unpleasant, it's a sign that you need more variety and stimulation in your life. If you dream of flying ants, it's a sign that you are confused and have no idea where you're going in life. This can be extremely disorienting. Nero, the Roman emperor, experienced a number of dreams in which he was chased by swarms of flying ants. This occurred shortly before he became mad, and continued after he had murdered his mother.
