Jackal in a Dream
The Egyptian god Anubis has the head of a jackal. Anubis weighs the souls of the dead to determine how good or evil they were. Because jackals are scavengers, people used to think they searched graveyards looking for corpses to feed on. The jackal is considered evil in both Hinduism and Buddhism. In Africa, the jackal symbolizes cowardice, and many people won't eat the heart of a jackal, fearing they may become cowardly themselves if they do. To dream of a jackal is a sign that you need to deal with unhappy memories and unresolved issues from the past.
